Frequently asked questions
These are the questions travellers ask us before booking. If yours isn't here, message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply within working hours.
Booking and payment
How do I book a trip with Motnfs?
It depends on the experience. Short experiences — Silent Mirrors, A Message from a Stranger, Tour & Session — book directly: message us on WhatsApp with the experience and a date that suits you, and we'll hold your place. Longer trips like Reconnection in Aseer and Diving Into the Self in Yanbu begin with a short introductory conversation before anything is confirmed.
Why do longer trips need a conversation first?
Because the group is very small — seven to ten people — and how well it fits together is part of the experience. The call is short and friendly: we get to know you, understand what you're looking for, and check the trip suits your pace and fitness. It isn't a test, and you commit to nothing financially during it.
Can I pay on the website?
No. We don't take payments on the site at the moment. Once the details are agreed, your travel representative sends you a payment link or transfer details directly. That also means any page asking for your card details in the name of Motnfs is not from us.
Are the listed prices final?
Yes. Prices shown on the site are final and all-inclusive, with no tax added on top. Optional extras — the 250 SAR airport transfer in Aseer, or the private accommodation upgrade in Yanbu — are always shown separately.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
It varies by trip and by how close you are to the departure date, because some bookings — camps, boats, guides — are secured in advance. Ask your travel representative for the terms before you pay, and we'll set them out in writing.
Prices and what's included
What does the price of a longer trip cover?
Accommodation, all meals across the trip days, ground transport between locations, the activities and workshops, and local guides with a facilitation team. In Yanbu the price also covers the boat to Baridi Island, the discovery dive with full equipment, and coast guard registration.
What isn't included?
Flights to and from the city, and personal expenses. In Aseer, airport transfers are a 250 SAR add-on. In Yanbu, travel insurance is mandatory and not included, because the trip involves marine activities.
How much are the short experiences?
The Motnfs Majlis is 100 SAR, A Message from a Stranger 150, Tour & Session 300, The Treasure Hunt 300, and Silent Mirrors 400. These cover facilitation and activity equipment, and dinner on the experiences that close with a meal.
Do you offer group discounts?
For private groups and corporate programs we build pricing around the group size and the program. Send us your participant count and rough dates and we'll put a quote together.
The trip itself
What fitness level do I need?
Our current trips are moderate and suit anyone who does light physical activity regularly. We walk at the group's pace, not the fastest participant's. If you have an injury or a health condition, tell us during the introductory call and we'll be straight with you about whether the trip is a good fit.
Where do we sleep?
In Aseer, camping: each participant pitches their own tent and sleeping spot, and that's a deliberate part of the experience rather than a logistical detail. In Yanbu you stay in a hotel — the listed price is for shared accommodation, with a private upgrade available.
Do I need diving experience for the Yanbu trip?
No. It's discovery diving with certified instructors and requires no certification — many participants are diving for the first time. You do need to swim confidently in open water.
What should I bring?
Hiking boots you've already broken in, warm layers (mountain nights are cold even in summer), a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and any personal medication. We send a detailed list once your booking is confirmed.
How big are the groups?
Deliberately small. Aseer runs with seven to ten participants and Yanbu with five to ten. Short experiences range from five to twenty, except The Treasure Hunt, which takes up to a hundred for larger teams.
What happens if the weather turns, or the group doesn't fill?
We keep alternative routes and an approved evacuation plan, and every group travels with a first-aid kit and a trained responder. If a trip can't run, the team contacts you to arrange a postponement or an alternative.
Is there free time on the trip?
Yes. The program is paced to leave room — the point is to come back lighter, not exhausted. The schedule is flexible and includes deliberate rest.
Our approach
What are the four dimensions?
The framework every experience is designed around: mental (stillness and clarity), physical (movement, returning the body to its rhythm), social (human connection), and environmental (sustainability and Leave No Trace). We don't measure wellbeing from a single angle.
How is this different from an ordinary tour?
The destination may look similar, but the design isn't. We build the route, the pace and the group size around the four dimensions, and we place experiences like silent walking and sharing circles inside the trip rather than beside it.
Are the experiences religious or therapeutic?
No. Our experiences are not psychological treatment and are not a substitute for a professional, and our facilitators are not therapists. They are spaces for reflection, presence and connection. If you're going through something that needs specialist support, we'd encourage you to see a professional — and you're still very welcome on our trips alongside that.
Companies and groups
Do you run corporate programs?
Yes, and it's one of the things we do most for organizations: field programs for team building and improving employee quality of life. The Treasure Hunt, Tour & Session and the Motnfs Majlis suit work teams particularly well.
Do you work with schools and universities?
Yes. We design camps and field programs that build students' life skills, adjusting the intensity and group size to the age group.
Can you design a private trip for my group?
Yes — Design Your Program is an established service. Tell us your participant count, the destination or atmosphere you have in mind, your rough dates and what you want the program to achieve, and we'll send a proposal.
Destinations and timing
Which destinations are available now?
Registration is open for Aseer (Reconnection), the Red Sea at Yanbu (Diving Into the Self), and Riyadh (short experiences). AlUla, Jeddah, Al-Ahsa, Al Baha, Georgia and Oman are in preparation.
When is the best time to book?
The mountain season runs October to March, and Yanbu October to May. Places are limited by the small group sizes, so booking early is safer.
Is Motnfs licensed?
Yes. Motnfs is licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism under licence number 73109890.
Ready for the trail?
We arrange your booking over WhatsApp or email, directly with one of our travel representatives. For groups and companies, tell us your party size and rough dates.
